Managing Ambiences

Using the Ambience Panels

You can use the Library and Product Ambiences panels to select an HDR map from a list of presets, or from your own collections.

  1. When the panels are docked, the Manage Ambience command displays and on the left and right sides of your session window. Move your mouse over these arrows to display the panels.

    • The Product Ambiences panel displays ambiences that have been inserted or saved into the product.
    • The Library panel lets you select an ambience and insert it into a product. It displays all the ambiences and 3D shapes delivered as presets. You can also have access to your own collections.
    • The ambience editor on the right lets you tune ambiences and edit ambience references.

  2. In the list on top of the Library panel, click Maps 360.

This displays all the HDRIs delivered as presets.

  3. Click Add Collection, and then navigate to the user collection to be used.
  4. To define an item as favorite, right-click its thumbnail, and then click Add to favorites.
  5. In the list on top of the Library panel, click Backplates to create a legacy ambience from a backplate.
  6. In the list on top of the Library panel, click 3D Shapes to insert a predefined 3D shape, and simulate the changes made to the current ambience.
  7. To display an ambience in the 3D area, drag its image from the Product Ambiences or the Library panel to the work area, or double-click it.
  8. To change the current ambience, repeat the previous step.
