Creating and Editing a Light Source

You can create a light source to illuminate the objects you want to render.

  1. To create physical (such as ) and nonphysical (such as ) light sources, click the appropriate light type from the flyouts in the action bar.

    Note: The default representation mode is wireframe. To display the light in shading mode, select Shaded in the Light Representation preferences.

    To edit a light source, you can either use the Properties dialog box, or the Light Sources panel. This panel is available when you edit an ambience reference in Ambience Studio.

  2. To open the Properties dialog box, do one of the following:
    • In the tree or in the 3D area, right-click a light and then select Light object > Definition.
    • In the tree or in the 3D area, double-click a light.
  3. In the Light Sources panel, use the appropriate command in the Light Sources area to display, duplicate, remove, or activate the light.
  4. In the Parameter area, define the light color and intensity.
  5. In the Shape area, define shape dimensions and angle values.
  6. In the Position area, define the light position and direction.
