Specify clearance and local geometry for GAP-type elements.

This option is used to define the behavior of GAP-type elements.

ELSET

Set this parameter equal to the name of the element set containing the GAP-type contact elements for which properties are being defined.

Data line for GAPUNI and GAPUNIT elements

First (and only) line
  1. Initial clearance, d.

  2. If the remaining fields are omitted or specified as zero, the contact direction will be computed from the nodal coordinates.
  3. Global X-direction cosine of the contact direction.

  4. Global Y-direction cosine of the contact direction.

  5. Global Z-direction cosine of the contact direction.

  6. Element cross-sectional area.
