Creating a Torus Primitive

You can create 3D torus using a streamlined workflow instead of creating a sketch and an extrude feature.

  1. From the Feature section of the action bar, click Torus .
    A torus is displayed in the work area.
  2. Click in the work area to place the torus. You can place the primitive in an open location or on a body.
  3. Drag the arrows to define the height and width.

  4. Optional: When placing the primitive on a plane or face, click Center On Face to center the primitive on the plane or face.
  5. Optional: From the context toolbar, click the following options to adjust the primitive:

    Drag handle for moving the context toolbar.
    Transform. Displays the Robot to position the primitive.
    Midplane. Extends the primitive equally in both directions from the sketch plane or body surface.
    Cut. Subtracts the primitive profile from another profile.
    Apply and Continue. Places the primitive in the current location and creates another primitive to be placed. The new primitive includes any changes made to the previous primitive.
    Expand. Opens the Primitive dialog box providing all available options. For information on the Primitive dialog box.
    Apply. Places the primitive in the current location and closes the context toolbar
    Close. Cancels the placement of the primitive and closes the context toolbar.
  6. Click when finished.
