Sketching Three Point Center Rectangles

You can sketch a rectangle defined by a center point and two corner points. The final rectangle behaves as a sketch object.

  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click 3 Point Center Rectangle .
  2. In the 3D area:
    1. Click to place the center point.
A preview of a construction line appears that lets you specify the length of a rectangle.
    2. Click to place the first corner point along the same line.
A preview of a rectangle appears that lets you specify the width of the rectangle.
    3. Click to place the second corner point.
    The rectangle is complete.
Note: The final rectangle has by default one parallel and two perpendicular constraints that define the shape of it. The center point has midpoint constraint with the construction lines. If you sketch the first line as horizontal or vertical, the constraints are applied accordingly.
