Splitting Sketch Entities

You can split one or more sketch entities in a single selection and entities that are coincident with an existing point.

This task shows you how to:

Split a Sketch Entity

You can split lines or curves into multiple segments.

Before you begin: Create a sketch.
  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Split Entity .
  2. Click where you want to split the sketch entity.



    The entity is split into two separate segments and a point appears where the entity is split.

Split Multiple Sketch Entities at Once

You split multiple sketch entities in a single selection.

Before you begin: Create a sketch.
  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Split Entity .
  2. In thework area, hover over the sketch entity.

    When you hover over the sketch entity, a circle highlights the entity.

  3. Click the highlighted entity to create a split.

Split Intersecting Sketch Entities

You can split two or more sketch entities where they intersect.

  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Split Entity .
  2. Click an entity where it crosses with other entities.

    The cursor changes when you bring it near the intersecting sketch entities.

    All the crossing entities split at the intersection point.
