About Plates, Gussets, and End Caps

Plates, gussets, and end caps are structural elements that provide an additional support to the structure system.

You can:

Add plates at the bottom of structure members for support
Add plates between multiple members to connect them
Use standard plates directly from the structure library. See Creating Plates from Standard Profiles
Customize your own plates

Notes: Before using standard or custom plates in your structure, from the Tools section of the action bar, click Update Standard Section Library

to update the profile library for standard and custom plates.

You can use gussets to:

Connect two intersecting structure members and strengthens the area between them
Connect two intersecting or nonintersecting faces, circular-to-planer faces, and circular-to-circular faces of members
Use the standard gusset profiles from the structure library. See Standard Profiles for Gussets

You can:

Use end caps to close open structure members
Use the standard end cap profiles from the structure library. See Standard Profiles for End Caps.
