Replacing the Component
You can replace one component with another within an assembly product.
- From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Replace Component .
- From the top menu of the Replace Component dialog box, select Component .
- In the Replace Component dialog box, click Replaced components and select a component from the work area that you want to replace.

Click Choose component.
3DSearch page appears.
- In the 3DSearch box, enter a name in the search box for the replacement component.
- Click OK to insert a component in place of component that you want to replace.

You can perform following optional steps:
- To replace all instances of the selected component, not only the selected instance, select Replace all instances.

To replace the existing mates associated with the replacement component, select
Solve mates.
The Replace Mate References dialog box appears. To replace mates:
- Click Mate references and select references such as face, edge, plane, or axis that you want to replace.
- Select a reference in the Mate references field to replace it with new reference.
- Click Associated mates and select a mate you want to associate with the selected reference.
- Click Replacement reference and select a new reference that you want to associate with selected mate.
