About Gravity

The gravity specifies the gravitational acceleration of the bodies included in a mechanism.

Defining the Gravity of Mechanisms

When you create a mechanism, a corresponding gravity element is created in the tree. In the work area, gravity is represented by an apple over the triad. It displays the direction and strength of the gravity element. By default, the direction of the arrow corresponds to the negative z-axis.

You can activate or deactivate the gravity of a mechanism. However, you cannot delete the gravity element of a mechanism, and you cannot copy/paste the gravity element from one mechanism to another.

The gravity element specifies the gravitational acceleration according to three acceleration parameters (along the x-, y-, and z-axes). By default, the gravity element is created with a magnitude of 9.81m_s2 applied along the -z axis.
