Create a Data Points Function
- From the Mechanism section of the action bar, click Function .
- Select Data Points as the function type to create.
- In the Physical Quantities section of the dialog box, select a type of quantity for each function value.
- In the Independent, x field, select a type of quantity for the input value.
- In the Dependent, F(x) field, select a type of quantity for the output value.

In the Definition section, specify x and F(x) values in each row
of the table. Use the following options to fill in the table.
Option Description
Append RowAdds a new row at the end of the table, with default values, and increments the x value. Use this option to create the first row of the table.
Insert RowAdds a new row after the selected row, and specifies default values. The x value must be higher than the previous value and lower than the next value.
Delete RowDeletes the selected row or rows.
Move Up RowMoves the selected row or rows up the table.
Move Down RowMoves the selected row or rows down the table. Note: To select a row, select the check box at the beginning of the row. To select multiple rows, select the check box at the beginning of the rows, or use the Ctrl and Shift keyboard shortcuts. To select every row from the table, select the check box at the top-left corner of the table.Tip: You can copy data from an external application and paste it in the Data Points table. To do so, select the rows to fill in and press Ctrl + V. To copy data from the table into an external application, select the rows to copy and press Ctrl + C. -
In the Scale and Offset section of the dialog box, specify a
value for the scale and offset of the x and F(x) variables.
By default, the scale values correspond to 1 and the offset values to 0. The offset values adapt to the respective x and F(x) scale values.
