Creating/Deleting a Connection Point or a Port

You can create a connection point to help positioning a route to be created.

  • In a symbol (Symbol Design): You can create either a stand-alone connection point or a port (with a mapped connection point).
  • In a diagram view: You can create a port (with a mapped connection point).

This task shows you how to:

Create a Connection Point

  1. Click the geometry to position the port.
Arrows are displayed to let you select a direction.

  2. Select a direction.

Create a Port with a Connection Point

You can create a port along with its connection point. Such port and connection point are automatically mapped.

The following commands are provided:

  • In Functional & Logical Design>Systems Architecture Design: Create a Logical Port (from the Edition section of the action bar) and Create a Flow Association (from the Edition section of the action bar).
  • In Symbol Design: Port Creation (from the Edition section of the action bar), for both logical port and flow association (or functional port).

In addition to these procedures, you must select a direction for the connection point.

Deleting a Connection Point or a Port

You can remove a connection point or a port.

To remove a connection point or a port, right-click the entity, then, from the context menu, select Delete.

Deleting the connection point or the port representation deletes its reference in the tree.
