To indicate an actor answers to messages, you can create an activation (execution specification) and insert it on the lifeline of an actor placed in a selected sequence diagram view.

To indicate an actor answers to messages, you can create an activation (execution specification) and insert it on the lifeline of an actor placed in a selected sequence diagram view.

Before you begin:
  • Create a sequence diagram view and activate it.
    Tip: From the tree, double-click a sequence diagram view to activate it.
  • Insert an actor.
  1. From the Sequence Diagram section of the action bar, click Create New Activation.
  2. To position the activation on an actor in view, click the lifeline of the associated actor.

    Tip: You can change the position of an activation created on a selected lifeline by selecting the activation and move it up and down the lifeline of the associated actor.

The activation is created on the selected lifeline of the associated actor in the active sequence diagram view.
