Creating State Machine Diagram

A state machine diagram describes the behavior of a single object in response to a series of events in a system. You can create a state machine diagram for a function or a logical component, and insert it in a sheet.

Before you begin: Create a logical reference.
  1. From the State Machine Diagram section of the action bar, click Create New State Machine Diagram .
  2. Select the logical reference.
  3. In the Sheet dialog box, enter a name for the sheet.

Note: The state machine diagram will be attached to this sheet.

  4. In the State Machine Diagram dialog box, enter a name for the state machine diagram.
  5. Click the view at the convenient place to place the sequence diagram in view.
The state machine diagram is created in the tree, under the corresponding sheet of the selected function or logical component. The smd prefix is automatically added before the name in the diagram view.

The Flows and Sub State Machine Diagrams panel appears. This panel lists the interfaces of the function or logical component and all substate machine diagrams attached to the children of the function or logical component.
