Inserting a New Parameter

You can insert a new parameter for an existing requirement.

  1. Right-click requirement where you want to insert the new parameter, and select Insert > Insert New Parameter.
    The Parameter dialog box appears.
  2. In the Parameter dialog box, on the Parameter tab, enter these details for the new parameter:

    Field NameDescription
    TitleType a short descriptive title for the parameter.
    DescriptionType a detailed description of the parameter.

  3. In the Parameter dialog box, on the Select Parameter Type tab, enter these details for the new parameter:

    Field NameDescription
    RoleType the role for the parameter.
    TypeType the data type of the parameter.
    ValueIf applicable, select the check box and type a value to define a value for the parameter.
    Minimum ValueIf applicable, select the check box and type a value to define a minimum value for the parameter.
    Maximum ValueIf applicable, select the check box and type a value to define a maximum value for the parameter.
    Minimum Tolerance ValueIf applicable, type a value to define a minimum tolerance value for the parameter.
    Maximum Tolerance ValueIf applicable, type a value to define a maximum tolerance value for the parameter.
    Minimum Precision ValueIf applicable, type a value to define a minimum precision value for the parameter.
    Maximum Precision ValueIf applicable, type a value to define a maximum precision value for the parameter.
    Add Multiple ValuesIf applicable, select the check box, type a value for the parameter, then click Add Value. Repeat for each value that you want to add. The value appears in the drop-down list.
    Add Authorized ValuesIf applicable, select the check box, type an authorized value for the parameter, then click Add Value. Repeat for each value that you want to add. The value appears in the drop-down list.

  4. Click OK.
    The dialog box closes.

The new parameter is inserted beneath the selected requirement.
