Accessing Symbol Design

You can access Symbol Design from Functional & Logical Design or Systems Architecture Design, by editing a symbol representation.


Before you begin: Create a symbol representation.
  1. To edit the symbol representation in Symbol Design, you have the following possibilities:
    • Double-click the symbol object.
      Note: You can also right-click this symbol object and select Object > Definition from the context menu.
    • Double-click the functional/logical symbol representation.
      Note: You can also right-click this symbol representation and select Object > Edit from the context menu.
    You enter the Symbol Design.

    The default symbol representation is displayed in the diagram.

    By default, the dock area displays the symbol objects with a Thumbnail view.

  2. To open another symbol object, double-click its thumbnail in the dock area.

    Tip:

    In the dock area, use these commands to:

    • Display thumbnails in small size
    • Display thumbnails in large size

  3. In the dock area, select Tree to display the RFLP context of the symbol.


  4. To edit another symbol object, double-click its symbol representation in the tree.
    The symbol object is displayed in the diagram.
  5. To exit the Symbol Design, click Exit App .
    You're back to Systems Architecture Design.
