Inserting a New or Existing Reference from Catalog or Library

You can insert objects into the Functional, Logical or Physical categories of the tree from a catalog or library.

Important: When you insert an existing product or 3D part in another product, you must check the design range compatibility.

  1. Select an object in the tree.
  2. From the Tools section of the action bar, select one of these commands:
    • Library Browser
    • Catalog Browser
  3. Select a catalog, chapter or a library from the available list.

    Tip: Click More... to search for another catalog or library in the database or to select an object from another tab.

    The Content Chooser appears and lets you:

    • Select an object in the tree or in the work area. A Filter symbol appears under your pointer during selection.
    • Search for an object in the database. For more information, see the 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps User's Guide.

  4. To insert an object, right-click the object from the displayed list and select one of the following commands:
    • Use Item > Insert
    • Use Item > Replace
    • Use Item > Duplicate and Insert
      Note: This command duplicates the selected object in its context, and also in the library.

The object is added and displayed in the tree and in the 2D graph.
