Testing a Defect Action

When you promote a defect action from Open to Test, you are indicating that the work defined by the defect action has been completed and the Quality Assignee can test that fix.

Required access roles:

  • App-specific: Defect Engineer
  • Baseline: Leader or Author

Note: The choices for cause, where found, and resolution may have been configured for your company. This procedure lists the default values for those lists.

Before you begin: View the Properties page for the defect action. See Defect Action Properties.
  1. On the toolbar, click To Test .

If you promote to "Test" while the defect action is in the "Evaluate" state (skipping the "Open" state), you first have to connect the defect action to a model version or model. See Promoting a Defect Action to Open.

The Defect Action: Promote to Test window opens.
