Developments Page

The Developments page lists developments, which are collections of all the information that defines a development project. You can also view the list of developments related to a development setting.

To access the list of all developments:

  1. With Defect Management and Collaboration as the active app, click .
  2. In the navigation pane, click Developments.

To access the list of developments related to a development setting:

  1. Open the required development setting. See Opening a Development Setting.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Developments.

About Copying or Revising Developments

Columns

Column NameDescription
NameThe name of the development or development instance. Click to open the properties page for the item.

In the list of all developments, you can expand a development to view the instances created based on that development.

RevisionThe revision level of the item.
StateThe current lifecycle state for the item.

Developments have a single state: Exists.

Development instances can have these states:

  • Created
  • Enabled

ValidAs icon indicating if the development is available for users to create development areas.

IconDescription
At least one development setting needs to be defined for the development.


Users can create development areas.

DescriptionA description of the development.
DesignSync ServerFor development instances, the name of the server the instance is attached to. Click to open the properties page for that server.
OrganizationOrganization responsible for managing the development instance. Click to open the properties page for the organization.

Only shows on the list of all developments.

URLThe main data selector for the development (empty for development instances).
SelectorThe name of the branch where development data is stored.
Area Scrub PeriodPeriod in days for cleaning of unused data in the file and module caches maintained by the data replication system for the item.

Filters

The Show list lets you filter the list of developments to show on the page.

Filter OptionDescription
AllAll developments that you can access.
OwnedOnly those developments that you own.
MemberOnly those developments that you have access to based on your role in the same project and organization of the development.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

The following actions are available on the Defect Management and Collaboration Development category page. They are not available on the Development category page for development settings or tool suites.

Revise Development Revises the selected development. this command does not revise development instances.Copying or Revising a Development
Delete Deletes the selected developments or development instances. Click OK to confirm.

This command deletes developments and instances on both the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and DesignSync server. This command deletes any development areas associated with selected instances and development assignments associated with a development. This command also deletes any development setting in the Make Branch or Make Copy state.

This command does not delete any related design tool suites or development settings in the Reference state.

The following action is available on the Development category page for a development setting. It is not available on the Development category page for tool suites.

Action NameDescription
Remove Disconnects the selected development from the context development setting. Click OK to confirm.

You cannot remove the development if any assignments use the development setting, or if the development setting is in the "Make Copy" or "Make Branch" state.
