Moving a Tag to Change the Model Version Hierarchy

You can dynamically manage the model version hierarchy by moving tags to subsequent model version revisions as they are created, without having to create and remove hierarchical references from individual model version revisions in the model version hierarchy.

Required access roles:

  • App-specific: Defect Engineer
  • Baseline: Leader

Before you begin: Open the Tags page for a model version revision that is currently assigned to the tag that you want to move. See Tags Page.

Adding a Hierarchy Tag to a Model Version Revision
  1. Select the tag that you want to move.
  2. From the toolbar, click Move To Another.
  3. Search for and select the model version revision to which you want to move the tag, then click Submit.

    Only model version revisions that can take the current model version revision's location in the model version hierarchy are shown in the search results.

The tag is moved to the new model version revision and is no longer listed on the Tags page for the current model version revision. The model version revision to which you moved the tag has replaced the current model version revision in the relevant model version hierarchy.
