Licensing Basics

You must purchase licenses for each Process Composer user, and the licenses must be enrolled on the Dassault Systemes license server.

Licenses are tied to specific users and cannot be shared. The Dassault Systemes license server software package includes the DS License Server Installation and Setup Guide (DSLS.pdf), which contains instructions for installing and configuring the license server.

Complete information about Dassault Systemes product licensing is provided in the Program Directory, which is additional documentation, similar to release notes, delivered on the Dassault Systemes software CD/DVD and documentation CD/DVD (if any). The Program Directory information can also be accessed through http://www.3ds.com/support. A support contract and private login account is required for access (see https://iam.3ds.com/self_service/login/service/websupport/).

A Process Composer license is reserved and consumed the first time a user logs in. To check for a valid license, Process Composer contacts the 3DSpace Server and the Dassault Systemes license server. The license remains consumed after logout.

A user must have a licence to perform the following actions:

  • Log in to the Process Composer user interface
  • Create Process Composer content

A user does not need a licence to view Process Composer content found by searching in the 3DSpace GUI.
