The Format of the Attributes XML File
  1. From the navigation pane, select V+R Process Management > Administration > Attribute Groups.
  2. From the list of attribute groups that appears, select the group to manage.
  3. From the navigation pane, select Attributes.
  4. From the Attributes page toolbar, you can do the following:
    • Select Actions > Add Attribute to add existing attributes to the attribute group. You can specify whether an attribute is mandatory and whether it will be used for input or output when you add it to an attribute group. In addition, you can provide the values of an attribute that is defined by multiple values.
    • Toggle on attributes, and select Actions > Remove Attributes to remove selected attributes from the attribute group.
    • Click Actions > Export to xml to export all of the attributes in the attribute group to an XML file.
    • Click Actions > Import from xml to import all of the attributes from an XML file into the attribute group. The XML file must contain all of the attributes in the attribute group--you cannot use the XML file to create or delete attributes. However, you can edit the XML file and change the order of the attributes within the attribute group. You can also edit the XML file and modify an attributes default value, minimum/maximum range, choices, and whether it is mandatory.
    • Toggle on an attribute, and click Move Up/Down to move an attribute up or down a row within the attribute group. You cannot move an attribute after you have sorted the rows by clicking a column header unless you reload the Attributes page.
    • Select an attribute from the Title column, and edit its properties, such as its default value. You cannot change the title or the type of an attribute after it has been created.
  5. Additional tools are available from the Navigation page toolbar. For example, you can change the lifecycle state of an attribute group or create a revision of an attribute group.
