Running a Step

You can run a step independent of the simulation activity in which the step was created. Running a step allows you to run only the rules in the step. For example, you may want to simply download or upload a file or run an OS Command without having to run all of the steps defined in a simulation activity.

Previewing Rules
  1. From the search menu in the Top Bar, search for and select the simulation activity in which the step will be run.
    Process Composer displays the simulation activity in the navigation pane and the table page.
  2. From the navigation pane, select Steps.
    Process Composer displays the Steps page.
  3. From the table page toolbar, select Run Step.
    • When you run a step containing a download rule, Process Composer asks you to select the directory into which the file will be downloaded.
    • When you run a step containing an upload rule, Process Composer asks you to select the directory from which the file will be uploaded.

    Note: You can also run a step, by right-clicking on an existing step in the Steps page and selecting Run Step from the menu that appears.

    Process Composer runs all of the rules in the selected step and displays the execution log that allows you to monitor the progress of the step.
