Instantiating a Simulation Process from an Experience

A Simulation Analyst can create an instance of a simulation process from a experience that was created by a Simulation Methods Developer. The instantiated simulation process inherits copies of the content and simulation activities from the original simulation process. You own the instantiated simulation process and can modify it to meet your needs. You can also use any attributes that were created by the Simulation Methods Developer to change the new simulation process; for example, an attribute that defines a material property or a load.

  1. From the Top Bar, select Add > V+R Process Management > Create Simulation Process (from Experience).
  2. From the dialog box that appears, select the simulation process experience to instantiate.

Note: You can limit the number of simulation process experiences from which to choose by selecting My Searches and by choosing a predefined search. For example, you can limit the search only to simulation process experiences created after a specified date or only to experiences assigned a specified attribute.

  3. Click Instantiate .
  4. From the dialog box that appears, make the desired modifications to the attributes and parameters to which you were given edit permission, and click Done.

Note: If you want the simulation process to execute on your workstation, you must enter {localhost} in the Station Name field.

The new simulation process appears in the Processes page.
