Creating Slot with Composite Profile

The composite profiles are created using a plate, two plates, or a plate and a face plate. Slot with Composite Profile lets you create slots for the free passage of such stiffeners.

  1. In the Penetrated Elements box, select a plate.

    You can select multiple penetrated elements.

  2. In the Web Element box, select the plate of the composite profile.
    The selected plate acts as the web of the profile.
  3. In the Flange Element box, select the second plate or the face plate of the composite profile.

    The selected plate acts as the flange of the profile.

  4. In the Section list, select the section of the composite profile.
  5. In the Slot and Collar Definition area, click Define/Edit Slot .
  6. In the Define Feature and Parameters dialog box, define the slot.
    1. In the Type list, select the slot type.
    2. In the Name list, select the required slot.
    3. Optional: Keep the Linked to reference check box selected so as to link the instantiated slot with its slot reference.

      By default, this check box is selected when the slot is defined as linkable in the slot table.

    4. Select the forming mode from the list.
    5. Click Apply.
      The slot parameters are displayed under Slot. If the selected slot type has a collar, the collar parameters are displayed under Collar.
    6. Optional: If the selected slot type has a collar, specify the material and orientation for the collar.
    7. Click OK.
    The defined slot is displayed in the Slot with Composite Profile dialog box and is also previewed in the 3D area.
  7. Click OK in the Slot With Composite Profile dialog box.
