Creating Plates from Split Plate Features

Expose Split Plate lets you create structure plates from the split plate features.

Before you begin: Open a structure that has seamed panels.
  1. In the Selected object box, select the root product, a physical product, or dedicated panels.

When you select a physical product, all the panels available under the selected product are taken into account and listed in the Expose Split Plate dialog box.

  2. Optional: Filter the panels using panel name, state, or geometry status.
  3. Click Show preferences to set the preferences for geometry generation and attribute synchronization.
    • Geometry: When selected Yes, geometries for split plates are generated under the structure plates.
    • Attribute Synchronization Rule: Synchronizes the user-defined attributes of the structure plate with the corresponding attributes of the split plate. You can insert the action rule in a chapter in the Rules Catalog or in any other catalog.

      Click to select the rule.

    • Conditions for Changes: Defines the criteria for comparison between the structure plates and their corresponding split plates.

The attributes available under Attributes to Compare are compared between the structure plates and their corresponding split plates.

If the values of any attributes do not match between a structure plate and its split plate, the structure plate is taken into account for the update.

  4. Select the required panel rows and click Compute.
The State and Geometry columns are updated with the following statuses:
    • State:

New: The structure panel is new and the structure plates are not generated for its split plates.

Up to date: There are no changes in the panel after the structure plates were generated.

Modified: The split plates are modified after the structure plates were generated.

    • Geometry:

None: The structure plates do not have geometries for split plates.

Exist: The structure plates have geometries for split plates.

  5. Click OK.
