Generating Structure Design Objects from xFrame Objects

xFrame PLM Exposition lets you generate Structure Design objects from xFrame objects.

This task shows you how to:

Specify the Inputs

  1. In the xFrame PLM Exposition dialog box, select the physical products containing the xFrame objects, in the Input object box.
  2. In the Destination box, select a physical product under which the Structure Design objects will be generated.

Note: The destination product and the product containing xFrame objects must be under the same root product.

The xFrame objects available under the selected input products are listed in the dialog box.

Compute the Status

Select the check boxes of the required objects and click Compute .
Physical Object To Do Description
- Expose A Structure Design object is not created for the xFrame object.

Click Expose .

Structure_Design_Object_Name - A Structure Design object is available for the xFrame object and is up to date.
Structure_Design_Object_Name Update A Structure Design object is available for the xFrame object, but it is out of date.

Click Expose .

Note: If an xFrame object was deleted after generating a Structure Design object, the To Do column shows the Delete action for the Structure Design object. Select the cell of the Structure Design object, click and select Delete.

Generate Structure Design Objects

Select the check boxes of the required objects and click Expose .
Structure Design objects are created for the xFrame objects. The existing Structure Design objects are updated with the latest changes in the corresponding xFrame objects.

An engineering connection is created between the xFrame and the Structure Design objects.

The Physical Object and To Do columns are updated as follows:

Physical Object To Do Description
Structure_Design_Object_Name - A Structure Design object is created for the xFrame object and is up to date.
Structure_Design_Object_Name Check Report A Structure Design object is created for the xFrame object, but there are some update errors.

Check the report for details.

Check the Report

  1. Optional: Click Detail Specification and select a row to verify the status of various attributes between the xFrame object and its corresponding Structure Design object.
