Breaking Profiles

Break Profile lets you break a profile (stiffener, stiffener on free edge, or member) to create multiple profiles respectively.

  1. In the Profile box, select a profile (a stiffener, a stiffener on free edge, or a member).

You can also select multiple profiles.

  2. In the Splitting Object box, select a splitting object.

The splitting object can be a plane, a curve, a surface, a stiffener, or a plate. The splitting object must intersect the profile.

  3. Click OK.
To break the profile, the objects must be saved. If they are not saved, a warning message is displayed.
  4. Click Yes.
The objects are saved and the selected profile is broken into multiple profiles. These profiles can be identified as individual profiles in the tree and the 3D area.
