Applying Naming Rule

You can apply the required naming rule to the selected products using an action rule.

Before you begin:
  • Create or import a catalog, or create a library containing naming action rules.
  • Open a structural assembly.
  1. From the Operation section of the action bar, click Naming Rule .
  2. In the Naming Rule dialog box, click Catalog Browser or Library Browser .
  3. Do the following:
    • In case of the Catalog Browser, click Open a catalog , select the naming rule chapter and then the naming rule.
    • In case of the Library Browser, expand the rules library, select the naming rule class and then the naming rule.
    The name of the selected action rule appears in the Selected Rule box.

  4. Select the products to be renamed.

    Tip: To view all the selected products, click the button to display the elements list. You can remove or replace the selected products using the Delete and selected Replace command.

  5. Click OK.
    The names of the selected products are modified according to the naming rule.
