Generating Structure Design Objects from xFrame Objects

You can generate Structure Design objects from xFrame objects.

  1. From the Operation section of the action bar, click xFrame PLM Exposition .
  2. In the xFrame PLM Exposition dialog box, select the physical products containing the xFrame objects, in the Input object box.
  3. In the Destination box, select a physical product under which the Structure Design objects will be generated.

    Note: The destination product and the product containing xFrame objects must be under the same root product.

    The xFrame objects available under the selected input products are listed in the dialog box.
  4. Select the check boxes of the required objects and click Compute .
    Physical Object To Do Description
    - Expose A Structure Design object is not created for the xFrame object.

    Click Expose .

    Structure_Design_Object_Name - A Structure Design object is available for the xFrame object and is up to date.
    Structure_Design_Object_Name Update A Structure Design object is available for the xFrame object, but it is out of date.

    Click Expose .

    Note: If an xFrame object was deleted after generating a Structure Design object, the To Do column shows the Delete action for the Structure Design object. Select the cell of the Structure Design object, click and select Delete.
  5. Select the check boxes of the required objects and click Expose .
    Structure Design objects are created for the xFrame objects. The existing Structure Design objects are updated with the latest changes in the corresponding xFrame objects.

    An engineering connection is created between the xFrame and the Structure Design objects.

    The Physical Object and To Do columns are updated as follows:

    Physical Object To Do Description
    Structure_Design_Object_Name - A Structure Design object is created for the xFrame object and is up to date.
    Structure_Design_Object_Name Check Report A Structure Design object is created for the xFrame object, but there are some update errors.

    Check the report for details.

  6. Optional: Click Detail Specification and select a row to verify the status of various attributes between the xFrame object and its corresponding Structure Design object.

    The Detail Specification dialog box remains active until you click Detail Specification again.

    Status To Do Description
    Keep The values of the attribute are similar.
    Update The values of the attribute are different.

    You can change the To Do value by double-clicking the cell and selecting another value from the list.

  7. On the progress bar, click Open the HTML report to check the report on the operation.
  8. Close the xFrame PLM Exposition dialog box.

Note: If you make any changes in the xFrame objects, you need to update the corresponding Structure Design objects using the xFrame PLM Exposition command.
