From the Fluidic Design section of the action bar, click one of the following:
- Rigid Pipe or Tube or Flexible Pipe or Tube to start creating a rigid or flexible pipe/tube.
- Rigid Duct or Flexible Duct to start creating a rigid or flexible duct.
The Select/Query Line ID dialog box appears. If you have already created a route, the dialog box is not displayed and the route is created under the current line ID. - Select a Line ID.
If you use: - a file-based resource, the Table Browser for Pipe Reference Table dialog box appears.
- an Engineering Specification resource, a table appears listing the pipes/tubes or ducts returned by the Parts Filters in the current Specification.
- Select a pipe/tube or a duct and click OK.
The Table Browser for Turn Rules dialog box appears. Note:
This table appears only if there are several turn rules available.

Select the turn rule of your choice and click OK.
The Table Browser for Minimum Straight Length dialog box appears. Note:
This table appears only if there are several minimum straight lengths available.

Select the minimum straight length of your choice and click OK.
The context toolbar appears to let you create a route using any commands. -
In the context toolbar, select one of the following:
- In-spec: the new route is created with the specification of the corresponding logical object (line ID or logical route).
- Out-of-spec : the new route is created with a specification that is not the one of the logical object.
- Non-spec: the new route is created from a free selection.

Select one of the routing method to continue the route.
- Optional: If you route from or to a port, a branch, or in the parallel routing mode, click Low Light to highlight the current line ID only.
The current line ID is highlighted as well as the items of equipment that are connected to this line ID, and the rest of the network is darkened. To highlight the whole network, click No Low Light . The ports that are not connected yet are represented with a yellow point and blue lines show the straight route between the available ports. - To change the current line ID, click Line ID Usage .
The process of pipe/tube or duct selection starts again.
