The elevation annotation shows the distance of the top or bottom of a part from a reference plane.

Concept

The elevation annotation is placed at the top or the bottom of the selected generated item. The elevation annotation can only be moved horizontally.

The reference plane does not have to be shown in the view.

The elevation annotation can be of any shape with lines and circles as geometry, area fill, texts, and so on. Few examples of elevation annotation are as shown below:







Parameter Creation

The elevation annotation template is a 2D component. The origin of the 2D component is matching the location of the elevation annotation as described in the parameters.

Annotation templates have knowledge parameters that enable you to modify the parameters.

For example, if you want to modify the length of your annotation or the number of lines, you can create a knowledge parameter.

The following types of parameters can be created:

  • Visible parameters: They are available in the annotation creation command.
  • Hidden parameters: They are not available in the annotation creation command.
  • Locked/Constant parameters: They are available in the annotation creation command but you cannot modify them.

In the Annotation Definition dialog box, click the Parameters tab and modify the required visible parameters.
