About Parametric Annotation Templates

This section provides information about the setup of parametric annotations.

Parametric annotations can contain one or more texts and optionally a geometry.

Basic Concepts

You can perform the following operations:

  • Display just a single text (along with sub-texts) of a feature (can be product or any feature inside a representation).
  • Display a group of arranged texts. The texts may be sub-annotations with specific position behavior relative to the main annotation.
  • Display one or more texts with annotation geometries (line, circle, component instances).
  • Make (sub-)text values be the result of KWE actions.
  • Reference several PLM attributes of a product or part.

Adding a Leader Line

To add a leader line to your parametric annotation, first instantiate the Parametric text template, and right-click the text and select Add leader. Then select the main text in the parametric annotation and the leader is created on that particular text.

Important: Do not create a leader line on one of the texts inside the annotation itself.
