About Text Templates
  1. From the Template section of the action bar, click Text Template .
  2. Click at the required location in the sheet to place the text annotation.
  3. Enter the required text.
  4. Right-click anywhere in the sheet and select Insert Attribute Link.
  5. Select an object to which you want to link the text (from the tree, or the work area, or the drawing).
The dialog box is updated with the list of attributes related to the selected element. In general, whenever you select an object (or a PLM object), the content of the Insert Attribute Link dialog box is refined to show only the relevant object attributes with respect to the selected object.
  6. From the Attribute list, select an attribute to insert.

    Notes:
    • When you select an attribute with multi-lines, such as description or revision description, the link is not associative.
    • Text with attribute link must not be used in any Text template or Annotation template to link to a PLM attribute, because the attribute link is not rerouted by Drafting Template Design.
    • If you want to annotate a PLM attribute value from an instance or reference, use text with link template or use parametric annotation template, where a text can be valuated with an attribute value read from a PLM attribute.
    • Text with attribute link is recommended to be used in annotation templates, where the attribute link is created to a knowledge parameter.
