Locking a View

You can lock a view to prevent modifications on the view.

Before you begin: Open a drawing representation.
  1. Right-click the view to be modified (either the view frame or the view itself).
  2. Select Properties.
  3. In the View tab, under Attributes, select the Lock View check box.
The other fields become unavailable, indicating that you can no longer edit them.
  4. Click OK to lock the view.

The view is locked. It is indicated by a lock symbol on the view in the tree.

Important: After a view is locked, you cannot perform the following actions:
    • Create views from this locked view.
    • Create annotations, dimensions, or 2D geometries in this locked view.
    • Update, delete, or cut this locked view.
    • Synchronize template, create new rules, activate or deactivate view/annotation rules.
    • Copy view elements in a locked view. In this case, if the input view is locked, the destination view is also locked.
    • The Rebar Drawing command cannot be used.
    • Move the generated geometries, 2D geometries, annotations, dimensions and dress-up elements in this locked view.

However, you can move a locked view.
