Parallel Execution of Workflows

Most of the application and utility adapters in Optimization Process Composer support parallel execution of workflows that include content that is referenced by an object parameter. The increased support for parallel execution provides the potential for increased performance when running complex workflows, such as physics simulations driven by a design of experiments.

Parallel execution of workflows that include directly referenced content, as opposed to object parameters, is not supported. Before each run of the adapter, you must duplicate the object that is being referenced by the object parameter and point the object parameter at the new object. You cannot reuse the object each time the adapter runs.

The object parameter can refer to a simulation document created by a Simulation Process Modeling app, such as Optimization Process Composer. However, the object parameter cannot refer to an engineering document. Similarly, when you are using the 3DEXPERIENCE Utility adapter to copy an object, you can copy only a simulation document; you cannot copy an engineering document.

The Data Matching adapter allows you to reference a simulation document from an object parameter; however, the simulation document can contain only a single file.

Parallel execution of workflows is supported by a 3DEXPERIENCE platform and a 3DOrchestrate Station and 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server from R2019x FD02 (FP.1914) or later.
