Configuring the Design Matrix

The Design Matrix tab displays the parameter values that will be used to drive the selected DOE technique. The parameter values depend on the upper and lower bounds and the seed that is used to generate the random values.

  1. From the Flow section of the action bar, click DOE and drop it on the process diagram.
  2. Double-click DOE .
    The DOE Editor appears.
  3. Click the Design Matrix tab.

Note: The Optimal Latin Hypercube and the Orthogonal Array techniques do not display a preview of the design matrix that will be used during execution.

Optimization Process Composer displays the parameter values that will be used to drive the selected DOE technique.
Warning: The order of the parameter values displayed for the Latin Hypercube technique is different from the order that will be used when the DOE adapter runs. Therefore, if you choose to use a fixed seed, you cannot use the order of the parameter values displayed in the design matrix to predict the design response across multiple runs.
  4. To display the level number generated by the DOE technique, click Display Levels.
  5. Optional: Change the Number of runs to display to view more or less runs in the design matrix.
  6. Optional: Click Export to export the design matrix to a tab-separated text file.
  7. Click Ok to save your changes and to close the DOE Editor.
