Breaking Profiles

Break Profile lets you break a profile (stiffener, stiffener on free edge, or beam) to create multiple profiles respectively.

  1. In the Profile box, select a profile (a stiffener, a stiffener on free edge, or a beam).

You can also select multiple profiles.

Tip: Select a plate if you want to break all the profiles on the plate. The number of profiles on the plate is displayed in the Profile box. If there is only one profile on the plate, then the name of that profile is displayed in the Profile box.

  2. In the Splitting Object box, select a splitting object.

The splitting object can be a plane, a curve, a surface, a stiffener, or a plate. The splitting object must intersect the profile.

  3. Click OK.
A profile is broken into multiple profiles. You can modify the geometry and material orientation of these profiles individually.
