This page discusses:

Name

The default name is assigned automatically. It is displayed in the Name box. If you want to assign a specific name, clear the Automatic check box and type a name in the Name box.

Plate

In the Plate box, select a plate on which the flange is to be defined. As you select a plate, the edges on which flange can be created get highlighted.

Important: You cannot select a panel.

Edge

In the Edge box, select one or more highlighted edges. You can also extract the edges using the Create Extract contextual command.

Note: You can select only straight edges.

Definition

In the Definition area, you can define the flange parameters.

Mode
In the Mode list, select any one of the following options:
  • Centered
  • Tangent.

With the change in the mode, the bitmap image changes. If you double-click the bitmap image, it opens in a new window.

Flange Width
In the Flange Width box, type the value or use the arrows to change the value of flange width.
Angle
In the Angle box, type the value or use the arrows to change the angle value. This value indicates the angle by which flange will bend from the plate.

By default, the bending angle is 90 degree.

Click Flip to change the flange orientation.

Radius
In the Radius box, enter the radius value between the flange and plate.

In Structure Functional Design, the radius is not visible in the representation.

Limits

In the Limits area, select the elements to define the start and end limits for flange. You can select reference planes or surfaces to limit the flange.

You can also define the offset value for the start and end extremity.

End Cut

In the End Cut area, you can define the end cut parameters. You can set the same end cut parameters for start and end extremities, by keeping the default chain mode.

When the chain mode is active, the parameter boxes for the End Extremity are dimmed. The Start Extremity parameters are applied to End Extremity.

To set different end cut parameters for start and end extremities, activate the independent mode. You need to click . The icon changes to and the end extremity parameter boxes are available.

Important: In the independent mode, the Radius box of End Extremity is unavailable. By default, the radius value for end cut parameter remains same in chain and independent mode.
Distance
In the Distance box, enter the distance value from the free edge to position the end cut.
Note: The distance should not be greater than flange width.
Angle
In the Angle box, enter the angle value of the end cut. The angle is always counted from the vertical edge of the flange.
Radius
In the Radius box, enter the end cut radius value.
