Computing Interferences between Structural Objects

You can validate a product's design by computing the interferences between objects at the feature level across structure systems.

Before you begin:
  • Open an assembly that contains structure systems and structural objects.
  • Select the Display Interference icon in 3D area check box in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Social and Collaborative Me > Preferences > Interference Check > Interference Display to view interference icons in the 3D area. The icons appear at the location of the interference. Based on the type of interference, they appear in different colors.
  1. From the Compass, click Assembly Design.
  2. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Create Interference Simulation .
The Interference simulation dialog box appears.
  3. In the dialog box,
    1. In the Interference simulation tab, enter a unique name for the interference simulation.
    2. In the Context tab, select the Between all components option from the list.
    3. In the Specifications tab, keep the default options.
    4. In the Options tab, ensure that the Launch computation now check box is selected.
  4. Click OK.
A new tab appears, displaying the interference. You are now switched to the Interference Check app. The interference simulation, probes, and result appear in the tree and 3D area.
Note: Based on the type of interference, the interference icon appears in different colors.
    • : represents clashes.
    • : represents contacts.
    • : represents clearances.
  5. From the Interference Analysis section of the action bar, click Analyze interference .
The interference simulation results list appears in Analyze mode. For more information about analyzing the simulation result, see Interference Check User's Guide: Analyzing and Verifying Interference Simulation Results.
