You can define parameters and formulas to the structure slot reference.

Before you begin: Create a structure section.

About Slot Parameters
  1. Double-click the Representation.1 node in the tree.
  2. Create a geometrical set:
    1. From the Geometrical Tools section of the action bar, click Geometrical Set.
The Insert Geometrical Set dialog box appear.
    2. In the Name box, enter SlotParameters.
    3. Click OK.
The geometrical set node is created in the tree.
  3. Create parameters and define relations between them:
    1. From the Compass, click Engineering Rules Capture.
    2. From the Engineering Rules Capture section of the action bar, click Parameters Explorer .
The Parameter Explorer dialog box appears.
    3. Select the SlotParameters geometrical set in the tree.
    4. Create private and public Parameters.

Differentiate them using prefix Priv_ and Pub_ respectively.

The parameters are created in the tree below the SlotParameters node.

For more information about creating parameters, refer to Knowledge Basics User's Guide: Creating and Working with Parameters.

      Notes:
      • Only public parameters are visible while instantiating a slot.
      • If the parameter is unlocked, values can be changed during instantiation.
      • You can lock parameters to restrict changing values.

    5. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Formula .
      The Formulas dialog box appears.
    6. To ensure the consistency of the contour, create formulas between the parameters of the contour.

For more information about creating formulas, see Engineering Rules Capture User's Guide : Working with Relations.

  4. Create a power copy:
    1. From the Compass, click Generative Shape Design.
    2. From the Tools section of the action bar, click PowerCopy Creation.
The Power Copy Definition dialog box appears.
    3. Select the SlotParameters geometrical set in the tree.
    4. Click the Parameters tab.
    5. Double-click parameters to publish them.
    6. Click OK.

The slot parameters are created.

You can create a Slot Table listing various slot sizes and set it in the Structure Resource table of the Data Setup.
Note: The same slot reference can be used for various sizes. Hence, the Slot Table acts as a Design Table.
