About Advanced Filtering

You can use an advanced filter to refine the objects displayed in a structure.

Depending on how your app has implemented advanced filtering, you open the Filter specification pane by doing one of the following:

  • From the action bar, click Filter.
  • From the page toolbar, click Advanced Filter.

You filter a structure from its root object. If you select the Filter command while several root objects are in your view, the Roots to Filter dialog box opens to allow you to select the single root object whose structure you want to filter.

You can click Home at any time while specifying an advanced filter to clear all criteria and start over.

You can change the information display density at any time while specifying an advanced filter. For more information, see Specifying the Display Density of a Filter.

You cannot successfully create an advanced filter if:

  • You select more than one root object.
  • You select any object below the root object as the starting point to filter the structure.
  • The content has not been indexed in the EXALEAD CloudView index.
  • The app is in Authoring mode. You may need to refresh the content to enable content indexing so that filtering is available.
