Update a Saved Filter Defined Using Selections

When parts for which new versions have been created (minor, major, or evolution) are referenced in a saved filter in the Selection filter types (add nodes or exclude nodes), the selections and the filter are broken. You can choose proposed paths to replace the broken ones.

  1. To resolve broken paths, click Solve in the dialog box that appears.
    The Update Filter dialog box appears.
  2. For all broken paths, the possibilities are:

    • There is only one optional path available and it is preselected. Do one of the following:
      • To use the optional path that is preselected, click Solved.
      • To ignore the optional path that is preselected, click Ignore.
    • There are multiple optional paths available, so there are no preselected paths. Do one of the following:
      • To use one of the available optional paths, select it, then click Solved.
      • To ignore all of the optional paths, click Ignore.
      • To redisplay the multiple path options, click Reactivate.
    • The path has been deleted or no path was found for replacement. You are notified as such and the path is automatically ignored.

  3. When all broken paths have been solved or ignored, do one of the following:

    • Click Apply to apply the updated filter but without modifying the saved filter in the database.
    • Click Save to overwrite the saved filter and apply it.
    • Click Cancel.
