Copying and Pasting Variant/Option Effectivity

You can copy and paste variant/option effectivity from one product in the structure to another.

Before you begin:
  • You must have models attached to the root object.
  • Your Business Administrator must have decoupled variant and evolution effectivity.
Note: The following conditions apply to copying and pasting variant/option effectivity between products in the structure:
  • Pasting variant/option effectivity to multiple products at once fails if there is an error for any single product.
  • Pasting variant/option effectivity fails if the model is not attached to the product's parent.
  • The model attached to the parent of the source product from which effectivity was copied must be a subset of the model attached to the parent of the target products to which variant/option effectivity is pasted.
  • You can paste copied effectivity to a maximum of 50 target products at one time.
  • You can copy and paste effectivity only within the same instance of the Product Structure Editor.
  • You cannot copy and paste variant/option effectivity to another product if the source product's effectivity was defined before variant and evolution effectivity were decoupled by your Business Administrator.
