Viewing and Modifying the Properties of an Object

You can view and modify the properties of an object.

Before you begin: Select one or several objects, and click Edit Properties or Information .

The Properties widget or Information panel appears, with different tabs. For more information, see Frequently Used Tabs. The list of tabs that appear in your app is available in the Properties or Information section of your app's guide.

Tip: You can pin the Properties widget to a dashboard using the Pin to dashboard command in the top menu.
  1. To view the properties of the selected object, click the Properties tab.

If you select an instance in a structure, the Properties tab displays the properties of the reference and the Instance tab displays the properties of the instance.

You can select another object to view or modify its properties without closing the Properties widget or Information panel.

  2. To modify the properties of the objects:
    1. In the Properties or the Instance tab, double-click anywhere in the tab, or click Edit Mode .
    2. Enter a new value for the properties you want to modify.

      Notes:
      • If you selected several objects, the modifications apply to all the selected objects.
      • The asterisk indicates mandatory properties.
      • You cannot modify some properties like, for example, scale, maturity state or organization. You can modify some of them with a dedicated command.

When editing, you can click Add Extensions to include additional attributes. An extension is a set of attributes. The dialog box that opens lists the extensions that are already attached, and you can start typing to search for the extension you want to add.

Note: The Add Extension command is supported on premises and on the private cloud only.

    3. Click Save to apply the modifications.
