Exploring Relationships Between Objects

The Relations command displays related objects by navigating relationships and paths.

This task shows you how to:

Explore Relationships

  1. Hover to see the details of the relations.

    You can:

    • Click to display all the related objects.
    • Click the related object number to display the objects linked by this relation only.
    • Click Preview all to preview the related objects in the Preview Successors panel.

    Tip: You can also click , then Preview Neighbors to open the Preview Neighbors panel.

  2. If an object in the graph has attached instances, you can see below the object.

    To display the instances, you can:

    • Click .
    • Click , then Customize Display Options , then Show instances .
  3. To add the immediate ecosystem of an object, select it in the graph.
    Important: If the Relations command is launched again, the content of the Relations is entirely replaced by the newly selected object and its related objects. You cannot go back to the previous state of the graph. However, you can pin the Relations in the dashboard by clicking . The next time you click the Relations command, a new Relations app opens with the expected content. It is not opened in maximized state.

The related objects are displayed in the graph.

Use the Preview Panel

You can preview the related objects before adding them to the graph in Relations.

  1. To open the Preview Neighbors panel, click , then Preview Neighbors .

    Tip: To open the Preview Successors or Preview Predecessors panel, you can also click Preview all.

  2. In the preview panel, you can:
    OptionDescription
    Expands the relations and lets you access the related objects.

    Lets you select all the related objects or cancel the selection.

    Lets you change the view.
  3. Select the related objects you want to add to the graph.
  4. Click Add in graph.

The related objects you selected are displayed in the graph.
