Managing Products

You can manage products by creating, cloning, adding, and removing them in the products table of your assortment. In this table, you can also manage the list of products associated with sub assortments.

Required access roles: Author, Leader

This task shows you how to:

Create a Product

You can create a product that is automatically associated with an assortment.

  1. Open an assortment.
    For more information, see Opening an Assortment.
  2. Select the Products tab.
    The Products page appears.
  3. Click Actions > Create Product.
    The Create Product slide-in panel appears.
  4. Enter details of the product.

  5. Click Done.

Clone a Product

You can clone a product to duplicate it.

  1. In the products table, select the product check box.
  2. Click Actions > Clone Product.
    The Clone Product slide-in panel appears.
  3. Enter values for the cloned item.
    Field NameDescription
    UPC Code that tracks trade items in stores.
    Title Name of the cloned product.
    Description Details of the cloned product.

    You can keep the same values except for the UPC that needs to be different. Other attributes can be modified by editing the cloned products.

  4. Click Done.

Add a Product

You can add an existing product to the product list of the assortment.

  1. In the page toolbar, click Add.
    The search page appears.
  2. Filter the search results and select the product you want to add.
  3. Click OK.

Modify Product Content

You can modify one or several products to change their content.

  1. Click Enable Edit.
  2. Click the required box to modify it.

    Note: You can also select the Mass Update option to modify several boxes.

  3. Click one of the following options:
    • Click Done to save your modifications.
    • Click Apply To Selected.
    • Click Apply To All if you used the Mass Update option.
  4. Click Save.

Modify Period of a Product

You can modify the period of availability of a product in an assortment. If period is not defined, the product is always available in the assortment.

  1. In the page toolbar, click Enable Edit.
  2. Select the start and end dates of the products in the assortment.
    You can also Mass Update the start and end dates of the selected or all the products in the assortment.
  3. Click Save.
    The product is available in the assortment for the selected period. The period end and start dates can also be used to filter the products.

Clear Period of a Product

You can clear start and end dates of a product in the assortment.

  1. From the product list, select the required products.
  2. In the page toolbar, click Actions > Clear Period.

The start and end dates of the product are cleared.

Modify Product's Sub Assortment Positioning

You can modify the product's sub assortment positioning.

  1. Click Enable Edit.
  2. To replace the current sub assortment, click a cell in the sub assortment column.

    Note: A sub assortment column is displayed for each group of sub assortments included one in another.

    A list of sub assortment appears.
  3. Select a new sub assortment in the list.
    The content of the cell changes.
    Note: If you select a blank value, the product is not associated with any sub assortment of the list.
  4. Click Save.

Remove a Product

You can remove a product from the products list. The product is not deleted from the database, it is detached from the assortment, sub assortments, and consumer decision tree segments.

  1. Select the product you want to remove.
  2. Click Actions > Remove.
    A message appears.
  3. Click OK.
