You use the Jobs tool to configure and run an Abaqus analysis. An Abaqus job formulates the command line options that are passed to an Abaqus execution procedure; for example, options that define the input file name and the output format of the results.

You use the Files tool to manage the files that can be accessed by the Abaqus job and to manage files generated by executing an Abaqus job. Examples of Abaqus Study files include:

  • Input files that are read by a job before it executes, such as an Abaqus/Standard input file
  • Output files that are generated by an Abaqus job during execution, such as an Abaqus output database file
