Using the Model Change Manager

The Model Change Manager can be used to remove regions of the model, either temporarily or for the remainder of the analysis.

Note: You cannot use model change to remove or add regions in perturbation steps. The model change status of a region in a perturbation step remains as it was in the last general analysis step.

  1. From the Interactions section of the action bar, click the Model Change Manager .

The Model Change Manager appears and displays all current steps in the simulation.

  2. To activate the model change feature, click "+" in the Model Change Manager.
    1. Add a descriptive name and select the region (support) for which you want to activate model change.
    2. Click OK.
    3. Repeat for each region of the model for which you want to activate model change.
The Model Change Manager will indicate by checked boxes that model change is activated for all regions you chose and that no regions have yet been removed.
  3. To remove a region, go to the Model Change Manager.
    1. For each activated region, choose the general analysis step in which you want to remove the region by clearing the box associated with that step.

All subsequent steps are automatically cleared, indicating that the region is removed for these steps.

    2. To add a removed region back into a subsequent step, check the box associated with that step.

Similar to clearing the check box, all downstream steps are automatically added indicating that the region is added back in for these steps.

    3. Repeat the above actions for each region that you want to remove and for which model change has been activated.

The Model Change Manager will indicate by checked and cleared boxes the current status of each region as being either removed or not removed.

The process described above allows you to easily remove or add regions of your model.
