Linking User Subroutines

You can link Abaqus user subroutines to an analysis case to provide feature data that is more complex than that allowed by the standard input methods.

Before you begin: User subroutines must be saved in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as DLL or SO documents—single file libraries—to be used in a simulation.

About User Subroutines
  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click User Subroutine .
The User Subroutine dialog box appears.
  2. Click , and use the search in the top bar to find a saved user subroutine.
  3. Optional: Click to review or edit the user subroutine.

Note: Editing user subroutines is not a function of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform; your system must have an application that recognizes and opens the file.

  4. Click one of the following:
    • OK to save your changes and to close the dialog box.
    • Cancel to cancel your modifications and to close the dialog box.
The User Subroutine dialog box closes.

Linked user subroutines are listed under the current analysis case in the tree. After you link them, most user subroutines must be activated by specifying the "user-defined" data type for the feature that they represent.

Note: UMESHMOTION, UEXTERNALDB, VEXTERNALDB, UEPACTIVATIONVOL, and UMDFLUX are used automatically and do not require any additional activation.
