Adding an Antenna

You can add antennas to your simulation to evaluate their installed performance on a platform you specify.

Before you begin: Create a CST Studio Suite antenna project, and save it to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. For more information, see CST Studio Suite Antenna Projects.

About Antennas
  1. From the Antenna Placement section of the action bar, click Antenna .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Click the Antenna field.
3DSearch opens, prompting you for search criteria.
  4. Enter your search criteria.

Tip: You can also search My Content for an antenna.

Antenna Placement automatically applies an additional filter to your search, allowing you to select only objects of the type Physics Simulation. You can further refine your search using the 6WTags. The subtype tag for CST Studio Suite projects contains the text CSTModel.

  5. From the 3DSearch results, select a CST Studio Suite project.

Note: If your selection is invalid, 3DSearch displays a stop sign pointer until you select something different.

    3DSearch closes.
  6. Optional: From the Axis system generation options, select one of the following types of CST Studio Suite axis systems to generate in the Antenna Placement app:
    OptionDescription
All axes Includes all CST axis systems.
Port pins Includes only CST port pin axis systems.
Anchor points Includes only CST anchor point axis systems.
  7. Click OK.
Antenna Placement uses the CST Studio Suite antenna project to create a 3DEXPERIENCE antenna with the proper geometry and axis systems.

The antenna appears in the tree, under Model > Physical Product > Electromagnetics > Antenna Placement.
